School and IMC Liability Insurance
The Education Bureau has provided an Incorporated Management Committee Liability Insurance Policy (IMCLIP) to protect the IMCs and their managers. This is on top of the legal protection conferred by the Education Ordinance against financial losses as a result of claims arising from their wrongful acts in school management.
However, IMCLIP does not cover the liability resulting directly from the day-to-day operation of the school. For example, the principal of the school, while being covered under the capacity as a director of the IMC, will not be covered if they became liable in a case of wrongful dismissal. Meanwhile, parents can sue the school and the teachers for failure to supervise, and so on. Liability like this can only be covered by a stand-alone School Liability Insurance policy.
Our tailor-made School Liability Insurance policy is designed to protect not only the IMC members but also the teaching organization board members, governors, employees, teachers, and volunteers. Coverage includes claims arising out of any breach of duty, neglect, error, misstatement, or omission committed in the course of day-to-day activities.
Our School Liability Insurance policy also protects board members’ individual assets from litigation. Coverage extends to protect board members, students, teachers and employees from wrongful termination, discrimination, and sexual harassment.
In the overwhelming rush of daily school management, let Grand Trust Underwriters’ School Liability Insurance bring you the peace of mind of being protected.
